Announcement from the NC Knights:
Niagara College is thrilled to announce the hiring of Elaine Pilgrim-Susi as the new head coach of the Knights women’s volleyball team.
“We are excited to have Elaine join the Knights,” said Michele O’Keefe, Director, Athletics & Student Engagement. “Her background in education and volleyball resumé will be a great fit for what we are building at Niagara College.”
Pilgrim-Susi takes over for Thomas Sloan, who accepted a head coaching job with the Keyano Huskies in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC).
Pilgrim-Susi brings decades of coaching and educator experience with her to the Knights – most recently, coaching the Smash Raiders in the greater Hamilton region, as well as coaching with Team Ontario. This combination of experience will help set up NC’s student-athletes for success in the future, both on and off the court.
“I am truly honoured and excited to be selected as the head coach for the Niagara College women’s varsity volleyball team,” said Pilgrim-Susi. “I am committed to leading this talented group of athletes towards their full potential on the court and beyond. With a focus on fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and a winning mindset, I am excited to contribute to the team’s success and uphold its strong tradition of excellence.”
The Knights posted a record of 11-7 in the 2022-23 season. With most of the roster returning for the 2023-24 season, the Knights are expecting to improve on their overall record and make a push to be OCAA Champions.
