Education News Canada: NC co-develops new VR tool to teach ableism and accessibility

On August 30, Education News Canada shared a release announcing that NC and Brock University have co-developed an immersive virtual reality (VR) tool that will help students learn about the lived experiences of people with disabilities on post-secondary campuses.

The unique collaboration called “IT’S AN IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Learning to Foster Authentic Inclusion for Accessibility Through VR Simulations” was funded by a $105,000 grant from the eCampusOntario Virtual Learning Strategy, which is supported by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
