Message from Fiona Allan, Vice President, Academic:
As we prepare to wrap up the spring term, we look forward to gathering valued feedback from our students through Course Feedback Surveys, which will be available from August 4-21.
Organized and administered by the Centre for Academic Excellence (CAE), Course Feedback Surveys are an opportunity for students to reflect on their courses, and to help guide the College’s continuous improvement quality process through their honest, constructive feedback.
When it comes to promoting this important survey among our student population, faculty support is key.
The information we receive from Course Feedback Surveys is pivotal to our College. It enables us to assess our courses and continue to innovate as we strive to provide the best quality education and student experience at NC.
While course feedback is always important to us, this year, as we engage in discussions on flexible course delivery, it is particularly important for us to hear directly from our students on their digital learning experiences.
I encourage faculty to share with their students how much our College values their highly-anticipated feedback. Please encourage your students to watch out for the survey and to participate. If possible, please consider allocating time in class for students to complete the surveys.
Please assure your students that any information they share through Course Feedback Surveys is confidential.
Students will receive an email with instructions on how to access their surveys via Blackboard. Surveys can be completed from any device or computer.
Faculty may view the list of their courses being surveyed through Blackboard, as well as how many students have completed the survey in real time.
To view the final results, log in to Blackboard a week after the course ends (click on the MyBlackboard tab. View the MyCoursEval section with your courses hyperlinked).
Note: surveys will be open for the majority of post-secondary credit courses during this timeframe.
Access tips on how to help bolster survey response rates, as well as resources and FAQs at niagaracollege.ca/coursefeedback. For more information, contact the CAE at [email protected].
Wishing everyone a positive and successful end to the spring term.
Thank you,
Fiona Allan
Vice President, Academic
