Environment Journal: Niagara College cultivates opportunities with new state-of-the-art greenhouse

On July 24, Environment Journal shared the announcement that Niagara College is constructing a new, innovative state-of-the-art greenhouse. The 1,258-square-metre facility will be part of the Horticultural & Environmental Sciences Innovation Centre (HESIC), providing space for further industry innovation and student growth.

The article notes that with a focus on fostering innovation within the vital greenhouse industry and enhancing learning opportunities for students, Dr. Marc Nantel, Vice President, Research, Innovation & Strategic Enterprises, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, emphasizing its potential as a game-changer for HESIC. The article also highlights that  Evan DiValentino, Associate Dean, School of Environment & Horticulture, expressed the tremendous potential the greenhouse holds for students, highlighting the facility’s role in providing access to cutting-edge greenhouse technologies and plant science innovations.
