It is with great pride that I announce the recipients of the 2023 President’s Award for Innovation in Student Learning and Success: five innovations by 11 outstanding employees and collaborators.
At NC, our people are our greatest strength. These highly engaged, dedicated individuals and teams have innovated in remarkable ways, creating new opportunities for our students.
They are shining examples of the welcoming, trailblazing and passionate characteristics that set Niagara College apart in the postsecondary world, and their ingenuity is an inspiration to all of us.

Jamie Consoli, Christina Abounassar (York University), and Sam Katerji (Wilfrid Laurier University): Ontario BIPOC Counsellors Group
The recipients of the President’s Award for Innovation in Student Learning and Success receive $2,500 to enable one or more contributors to attend a conference or other professional development opportunity or, to advance their innovation in a meaningful way.
In the coming weeks, you will have the chance to learn more about these innovations via InsideNC, and at Niagara Day in the fall. This years’ winners include community partners, which is a testament to the value that collaboration brings to advancing our college and our communities.
