Niagara College is proud to recognize Trans Day of Visibility on March 31, offer learning opportunities, and show support for valued members of our community.

To help the Niagara College community prepare for the day and consider its importance, particularly in post-secondary education, join us for a hybrid fireside chat on March 29 from 10 to 11 a.m. between Whit Ross, Educational Developer (Inclusivity), Bruin Pol, President-Niagara College Rainbow Knights and fellow members Chelsea (Sea) Long and Anthony Rector-Bouchard, and Samah Sabra, Workplace EDI Manager.

Join us to learn about:

  • How this day came about.
  • Why visibility and representation matter.
  • How we can contribute to the safety required to support trans visibility.
  • College initiatives that support trans visibility.
  • Learn what is working well and what could improve the sense of belonging for trans, nonbinary and gender diverse students and employees.

Learn how you can help support trans students and colleagues, and leave the session with some ideas for how you can recognize and celebrate Trans Day of Visibility.

This events is open to students and employees and will provide participants with the opportunity to join the event in a hybrid format either virtually (via Zoom) or in-person (in N018 at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake).
