On February 28, The Niagara Independent released an article on locally connected current and former Niagara athletes commenting on Black History Month.
Jamira Rousseau, a Welland native and member of the NC Knights Women’s Basketball team was interviewed for the article:
“I learned a lot during this month because of how much it’s posted everywhere and broadcasted and advertised, I learned so much about my heritage and background that I never knew before. And I think that’s my biggest take away from Black History Month.”
