A message from Craig Youdale, Dean, Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies division:
I am excited to introduce our new foodservice operations catering chef, Scott Wild.
Scott is a proud alumnus of Niagara College’s Culinary Apprenticeship program and was one of the last graduates from the former Maid of the Mist campus in 2004.
Scott apprenticed at Twenty Valley Golf Club and went on to join the team at Fallsview Casino Resort at the start of his career. He then moved his talents out west to join the kitchen team at the Delta Hotels in Kananaskis Country, Alberta for a three-year tour of duty, which included his completion of his Red Seal designation.
Scott went on to the Stage West management company operation at Stoney Nakoda Resort (also in Kananaskis), where he rose from junior sous chef to executive chef in just two years. During his time in the Rocky Mountains with Delta Hotels and Stage West, he was involved with hosting everything from the G8 Summit to schmoozing with production teams on movie sets for Inception and X-Men.
In connection with his executive chef role, he found time to participate in events like the Taste of Canmore, Iron Chef, Habitat for Humanity, and the Calgary Stampede Food Emporium.
Scott was compelled back to Niagara, which was home, to plant roots in Chippawa and raise a family. In Niagara, he took the lead at Safari Niagara for a couple of years before finding his passion for working with students, as head culinary instructor at the Six Nations Polytechnic in Brantford for the past four years.
Scott joined our Culinary Foodservice team on January 30.
