Industry involvement was on tap for NC Brewmaster students as the Master Brewers Association of the Americas recently rolled into town.
The MBAA held its Ontario Technical Conference in Niagara-on-the-Lake from January 25-27 which brought industry reps to NC’s Teaching Brewery, and a group of NC faculty and students to the conference.
On January 25, a tour from the MBBA conference on January 25 visited the College’s Teaching Brewery, as part of the conference’s annual bus tour and tastings trip.
NC beer also made its way to the MBAA conference. On January 26, samples were served during a presentation by Richard Priess of Escarpment Labs, who discussed how to harness tropical thiols from yeast. The sample brews from the Teaching Brewery were examples of biol biotransformation.
