A December 19 article in the three Niagara dailies (St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune) and Niagara this Week announced Dean of Business and Environment, Al Unwin was among the delegation Canada sent to the United Nations COP15 biodiversity conference. Speaking from Montreal during a brief break in what were some long and busy days, Unwin called it a personal career highlight, but also underscored the importance of what was being discussed.

The article includes quotes from Al Unwin, including the following: “This is the sixth biggest extinction event in history and it’s all human driven and we’re causing it. There are a million species that are looking at this particular meeting to come with a solution or they’re not going to be around.”
