Niagara College’s Recreation Therapy Program has partnered with Stockings of Love – an initiative that provides full stockings to seniors living alone or in long-term care homes this holiday season – and is asking the Niagara College community to help spread some holiday cheer by donating to this important cause.

“Many older adults in our community are alone during the holidays and this is a small way that we can help make the holidays special for them,” said Christine Wilkinson, Recreation Therapy Program Coordinator.

The NC community can be part of this amazing initiative by donating fully stuffed stockings, donating individual items for stockings or by providing a cash donation that can be used to purchase a stocking and items to stuff it with.

Items in need are:

  •  Lip balm
  • Lotion
  • Toothbrushes
  • Socks
  • Winter hats/gloves
  • Playing cards / word games/ puzzle books / games
  • Chocolate/candy
  • Christmas mug
