An article in The Voice of Pelham and Central Niagara focuses on the removal of an invasion tree species, known as the European Black Alder, from the E.C. Brown Wetland Park. The Nov. 25 article highlights the involvement of students from NC’s Ecosystem Restoration program who helped the NPCA with the removal process.
Kerry Royer, an alumna from the program who is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the NPCA, is quoted in the article. “E.C. Brown Wetland was always meant to be a cooperative project with Niagara College. It provides real world conditions for their studies and functions as a working lab while offering educational and recreational opportunities for the public.”
