On November 14, Bernie Puchalski with BPSN wrote about the Canada Basketball Junior Academy, which is being hosted at NC’s Welland Campus over five weekends beginning November 19-20. The academy is a training and development program for young basketball athletes across Canada.
NC’s Director of Athletics and Student Engagement Michele O’Keefe is quoted in the article on the excitement around hosting a national camp and the benefits for NC students who will learn from Canada Basketball’s sports science experts.
“We like the idea of having our gym be part of the high performance pathway,” said O’Keefe in the article. “We have a great facility and we have a great academic side of our program – the exercise science program for example – and the students at the college will be able to learn from the expertise that Canada Basketball will bring to our gym.”
