A message from President Sean Kennedy:
NC innovators, it’s that time again, and this year, there is even more funding up for grabs.
The President’s Award for Innovation in Student Learning and Success is back for its second year and will showcase the outstanding efforts and innovative spirit of NC employees who push boundaries and explore new ways of teaching, engaging and supporting our students.
The award – up to five distributed annually – recognizes individuals or teams at NC who have affected student engagement, learning, or success in remarkable ways by innovating aspects of their work or by creating new opportunities.
Faculty and staff: this spirit of innovation shines within YOU, as you push boundaries, and explore new ways of teaching, engaging, and supporting our students. This year, we’re investing even more to advance your made-at-NC ideas and solutions.
The College has raised the award value to $2,500 (up from $1,000) for both the inaugural innovators and the 2023 recipients. The funds can be used in one of two ways: to enable one or more contributors to attend a conference or another professional development opportunity or, to advance their innovation in a meaningful way.
All employees – full- and part-time – engaged in the delivery and support of teaching or student success at Niagara College are eligible. Individuals or teams may apply or be nominated for the award, and teams may be made up of two or more collaborators within or across units at the college who have contributed meaningfully to driving innovation. Teams can also include non-staff partners (students, employers, community members), so long as the lead applicant is a Niagara College employee.
Winning innovations will be featured on InsideNC and award winners will present their innovations to the NC community at college-wide events, such as the Spotlight on Teaching and Learning Conference.

Consider nominating yourself, your team, or a peer for this award to help us recognize impactful innovations at NC, and share those innovations college-wide.
Applications will be accepted until March 4, 2023. The recipients will be announced in April 2023.
