Students, employees gain free access to virtual conference
Niagara College will be a host institution for the 2022 Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education.
Hosted by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), the virtual conference will take place October 18, October 26 and November 3, offering three full days of live content and networking, plus 80 days of on-demand access (until December 31).
With a theme of “The Urgency of Now,” this year’s conference is a clarion call for transformative sustainability solutions that match the speed and scale of challenges. The theme addresses the catastrophic effects of climate change, with more reports that indicate that the point has been reached where the results are irreversible — unless immediate, rapid, large-scale reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are met.
“Our host institutions truly champion sustainability advancements in higher education,” said AASHE Executive Director Meghan Fay Zahniser. “We are grateful to work with these member colleges and universities that directly contribute to the success of the conference and the sustainability movement as a whole.”
Because NC is a host institution, students and employees will have unlimited registration passes to the virtual conference. The registration deadline is November 3, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. (ET).

- Click HERE to register (select ‘Registration,’ ‘click ‘Register now’ then select ‘Attendee)’.
- Presenters or student presenters may use the Presenter Access Code provided in their acceptance email. Add the ticket to registration first to be prompted for a Presenter Access Code.
- Fill out all the relevant fields using a NC email address. The Discount Code is linked to NC’s email domain (@niagaracollege.ca, @ncstudents.niagaracollege.ca). Other email addresses (such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo) will not work with the Discount Code.
- After adding the ticket, before clicking ‘Checkout,’ enter the following Promotional Code (PROOZJIGWPX) and hit ‘Apply’:
- After entering the promotional code, the total will drop to $0.
- Complete registration.
