Staff, faculty and administrators are invited to submit video messages of congratulations to NC’s Class of 2022.

NC began incorporating video well-wishes into convocation ceremonies in 2020 as a personal send-off for students graduating virtually. They quickly became a treasured highlight of each ceremony ever since, and organizers are excited to continue the new tradition during Spring 2022 live ceremonies (both in-person and virtual).

The pre-recorded well-wishes shine a spotlight on the valued roles that our dedicated staff, faculty and administrators have on student success, by giving them a chance to address graduating students during the ceremonies. They are a testament to the caring environment that NC strives to provide, and the personal messages leave our graduates with fond, lasting memories of the College community as they cap off their academic journey.

Who can submit video messages for convocation

All employees are welcome to submit video messages of congratulations for our Spring graduates.

How to submit video well-wishes

It’s easy to submit a video! Please upload videos to the dropbox at dropbox.com/request/ZKLLauDPIh37in3kptVH (copy and paste link into browser).

  • Submissions should be 30-60 seconds in length.
  • Ensure the camera is horizontal during the recording.
  • Subjects should fill the frame and be close to the camera.
  • Light should be bright and even while recording a video.
  • Avoid windy or noisy areas when recording.
  • Ensure that COVID-19 public health regulations / safety measures are followed

Ideas for well-wishes

Seeking inspiration for what to say to our Class of 2022? Some suggestions include:

  • Share a memory from the past academic year or from your time with our graduates: “I will never forget when …”
  • Encourage graduates to take away an important lesson from their time at NC: “Graduates, if you remember one thing from our class, I hope it’s …”
  • Share advice or words of wisdom: “I believe the secret to success is …”
  • Share an example of how their class has made a difference in the community: “When we supported [insert initiative] I was very proud of our work.”
