NC earned a mention in Academica Group’s Academica Top Ten daily e-newsletter on March 8. The coverage notes that the College is among a list of wineries and vineyards that have achieved Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario (SWO) certification “for demonstrating a commitment to integrating sustainable practices ‘from soil to shelf.'”
The coverage includes a quote from NC Sustainability and Program Outreach Coordinator Amber Schmucker:
“[The SWO certification] will allow the College to demonstrate continual improvement for sustainability on campus, while also providing a platform for strengthening internal and external partnerships. Programs like SWO Certified allow us to build capacity for sustainability on campus and enhance student learning opportunities in and out of the classroom.”
