After a two-year pause in regular play due to pandemic restrictions, the Knights women’s and men’s basketball and volleyball teams are returning to the court on February 11.
The OCAA announced the return on Feb. 3 along with details of a shortened and reconfigured regular season in an east-west divisional format for both varsity sports.
All four Knights teams will play in the west division alongside nine other teams. For basketball, the Knights will join Canadore, Conestoga, Fanshawe, Humber, Lambton, Mohawk, Redeemer, St. Clair and Sheridan. Volleyball will see the Knights competing against Boreal, Cambrian, Conestoga, Fanshawe, Humber, Mohawk, Redeemer, St. Clair and Sheridan.
Basketball will kick off their OCAA regular season on the road Feb. 11 at Conestoga, while volleyball will open their season at home Friday against Boreal. View the teams’ full schedules on the Knights website.
Athletics & Recreation would like to remind the NC community that there are no spectators at Knights games at this time. All regular and post-season basketball and volleyball games will be webcast via OCAA Live for anyone wanting to catch the games online.
While NC’s basketball and volleyball teams played exhibition games last year in November and December, this month will mark the first time the teams will get back to regular season play since Feb. 2020.
This month will also see the return of the Knights’ curling teams, who will compete in the OCAA Championship Feb. 17-20 in Sault Ste. Marie.
