Mike Balsom with YourTV Niagara sat down virtually with Jennifer Green, Director of Competitions with Skills Ontario, on the heels of the kick-off event for the Exploring Your Future mentorship series. The series is a joint partnership between NC, Niagara’s local school boards, Skills Ontario and Ontario Power Generation to highlight careers in the skilled trades and technology for female high school students.
During the segment, Green discusses the barriers that continue to prevent women from considering a career in the trades and explains how important it is for young women to see other females working in the industry. She also highlights the joint series, which continues on Feb. 10 with a focus on the construction sector.
