Thrive@NC – a 10-week virtual program for students who have experienced difficulties at school to learn how to thrive academically and personally – is back for another term beginning Jan. 26.
The program is offered by NC’s Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services, encouraging students to build motivation and optimism, increase self-compassion and resilience while learning effective skills such as studying, time management, note-taking, test-taking, and essay writing. At the heart of Thrive@NC is the Five Factor Model of Resilience comprising gratitude, optimism, self-compassion, and grit, with mindfulness at the very core.
Thrive@NC will be held on Wednesday’s from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. While the program begins on Jan. 26, students can join anytime throughout the semester.
The sessions will be facilitated by NC’s and Jennifer Babin, Counsellor and Emily Appleyard, Learning Strategist.
Jennifer is available to join virtual classes and departmental meetings via Blackboard Collaborate, Zoom, or MS Teams to chat briefly with students, staff and faculty about Thrive and other services offered by Health, Wellness, and Accessibility Services. Email [email protected].
