A paper written in collaboration with NC Horticulture students Patricia Bitaxi and Julie Miller and industry experts was published in Greenhouse Canada magazine. The paper is part of a series of research updates written by industry experts and students in NC’s Hort1346 Greenhouse Production Course and organized by Horticulture Professor Sebastien Jacob.
Bitaxi and Miller’s research highlighted a vertical farming project in Gjoa Haven, Nunavut that is growing fresh produce, including microgreens, lettuce, strawberries, herbs and tomatoes, to mitigate issues of food insecurity in one of Canada’s most northern remote communities.
Read the piece as posted to Greenhouse Canada’s website on December 6.
