I would like to express my deepest thanks to the over 150 staff, faculty, and students who contributed to a very successful Fall Virtual Open House event on Saturday.
The cornerstone of our recruitment cycle, Open House gives future NC students a window into our unique hands-on learning environments, a feel for our distinguished programs, and a chance to experience the welcoming nature of our community. Now more than ever before, the postsecondary environment in Ontario is highly competitive. Our Open House events are a critically important part of a prospective students’ decision-making process, and a chance to showcase what makes Niagara College so special.
Through over 45 live and simultaneous program information sessions – no small feat to deliver virtually – you captured the essence of Niagara College and demonstrated remarkable collaboration from across the College in support of students. All the sessions were a testament to NC’s innovative spirit, from the welding and photonics demos to customized sessions for international students logging in from their home countries. The ‘Ask Me Anything’ sessions brought the NC experience right into students’ homes, giving them the chance to ask questions on everything NC, from athletics to residence to Health, Wellness and Accessibility to admissions and more.
I am exceptionally proud of the work you do as ambassadors for the College through key recruitment activities like Open House, and I’m looking forward to the day when future students can, once again, experience the energy of our in-person recruitment events. In the meantime, we have resumed in person on campus tours for small groups and will continue to work on expanding opportunities to experience our phenomenal campus learning environments.
Thanks again for making Fall Virtual Open House a success!
