Associate Dean of NC’s School of Nursing and PSW Angela Butt was interviewed by Mike Balsom with YourTV Niagara.
During the interview, Butt discussed how NC is helping to meet the growing demand for health-care workers through an increased capacity for its Nursing and Personal Support Worker (PSW) programs. With government funding, NC was able to take 30 additional Nursing students in September 2021 and 30 more will start in January 2022. She also highlighted the positive response to the accelerated PSW program and mentions how many of the students who have completed the program are already securing jobs.
Butt also gives special mention to the program’s community partners who mentor and provide placements for students, and acknowledges the many student service areas at the College for supporting PSW students during their accelerated studies.
