CHCH News posted an article about Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30 and includes NC Indigenous Education’s Honouring the Children event in a listing of local-area events marking the day.
The event is being held in the Indigenous Garden at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake from 9 to 11 a.m. Elder Dave Labbe, who is also a NC alumnus, will light a fire, offer medicines and guide the NC community to reflect on the children who were forced to attend residential schools.
