Education News Canada shared NC’s release about Public Relations alumnus Nicholas Mertens (2021), who is the 2021 winner of the prestigious Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) / Cision Student Award of Excellence.
The award celebrates promising future practitioners who have demonstrated an ability and desire to contribute to the status and acceptance of the profession, qualities that Mertens demonstrated as a student and continues to show in his role as Zak Communication’s social media account manager. Mertens was nominated for the award by PR Program Coordinator Emily McInerney who recognized his academic excellence and professionalism, among other notable qualities.
The release includes quotes from Mertens, McInerney and Charles Kopun, NC Associate Dean of the School of Media Studies.
