On September 21, Food in Canada reported that the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has awarded a $1.75 million renewal of Technology Access Centre (TAC) funding to Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute (CFWI) Innovation Centre, at $350,000 per year over five years.
The coverage notes that the CFWI Innovation Centre, which is considered a TAC, is a food and beverage accelerator. The Centre consists of a team of experts in food and beverage science and safety, who work with students to offer small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) innovative solutions from concept to shelf.
