Newstalk 610 CKTB and Move 105.7 posted a news brief about Niagara’s Visual Assessment Survey Tool (VAST) – a new community-based coastal monitoring program, of which Niagara College is a partner.
The program asks community members to help track coastal conditions along Lake Erie shorelines by submitting data (photos and surveys), which will be used to create a real-time map of coastal conditions, track results and help inform future decisions about restoration. To help volunteers track shorelines consistently, photo stations are being set up at priority sites, including Long Beach and Morgan’s Point.
