Important Update – Changes to employee campus access protocols

With the return to on-campus work beginning September 7, employees should be aware of changes to campus access protocols.

As of Monday, September 6, employees will no longer be required to submit a campus access request prior to coming on campus.

Once you arrive on campus, you will continue to be required to ‘check in’ at a designated access point by tapping your Niagara College ID card at an employee-designated check-in station. If you have forgotten to fill out the daily health screening on the employee portal or your proof of vaccination has not been submitted and validated (or have an approved exemption), your manager will follow up with you. Note that access points will include specific tap in stations for students and for employees – look for signs that identify the employee stations. You may bypass the lines and go directly to the employee stations.

Employees are required to upload their proof of vaccination to the “Employee Self Serve” link on the employee portal at least seven days prior to attending campus to have their access validated.

An important reminder to those who will be working on campus as of September 7 that they should confirm that their vaccine documentation has been approved. This can be done via the self serve portal by clicking the “Vaccine Policy Documentation” link. The status column will be marked as ‘approved,’ ‘pending,’ or ‘denied.’ If an employee’s status says ‘denied,’ it must be addressed before they may access campus.

Be sure to give yourself enough time to arrive before the start of your workday as we anticipate lineups until everyone becomes accustomed to the system. For a list of access points, visit the Return to Campus website.

Full details about the process and requirements for accessing campus are on NC’s Return to Campus website. View the ‘Pre-arrival checklist’ in the NC Safe Guide for employees for details.
