Don Redmond with Insauga interviews Niagara College winemaker Gavin Robertson about NC’s double gold win at the All Canadian Wine Championships in July which saw over 1,300 wines from over 200 wineries.
The win marks the first double gold for a college-produced Sauvignon Blanc. Students in NC’s Winery and Viticulture Technician program were integral to producing the Sauvignon Blanc, as well as their 2019 Dean’s List Savant (winning silver in the Red Icewine category) and 2018 Balance Gamay Noir (winning silver in the Gamay Noir category).
Robertson is proud of the awards which show that students in the program are producing varieties on par with other top Canadian wineries, a testament to the quality of education happening at NC.
