On July 10, The Globe and Mail published a piece on biases and barriers women have to overcome at work which featured the work of NC’s Holly Catalfamo, newly appointment director, Global Engagement of International. The story centres on Catalfamo’s and Paul Harrietha book The Invisible Rules: What’s Really Holding Women Back in Business-and How to Fix It.
The piece outlines the four barriers that women face in work and how awareness of these biases can help remove obstacles to help women advance their careers. With Catalfamo’s background as an HR professional and professor, she asserts that men play an important role as allies for women’s professional development.
