Katie Altoft has taken on a new role as acting associate dean, School of Environmental and Horticultural Studies.

A message from Alan Unwin, dean of Business, Tourism and Environment:

I am very pleased to announce that Katie Altoft has accepted the position of acting associate dean in the School of Environmental and Horticultural Studies.

Katie has spent the past 12 years as a full-time faculty member and for the past eight years she has been the coordinator of the Environmental Management and Assessment program.

Prior to Niagara College, Katie spent many years with the Earth Rangers organization as their director of education and with the Canadian Standards Association where she was able to leverage her strong background in environmental management and sustainability, combined with her Master’s in Business Administration, to take on various national and international leadership roles that continue to this day.

Many of you have had the pleasure of working with Katie on a number of fronts within our School and across other academic areas, and I am very pleased that she will be able to build upon the strong relationships that she has already established.

Please join me in congratulating Katie as she takes on her new role, which began on May 17.
