A message from the Centre for Academic Excellence:
The Spotlight on Teaching and Learning Conference will be returning on October 26 and 27, 2021. This virtual event will bring together faculty, staff and administrators from across the College to reflect on and celebrate the many ways that we support student learning and success. The conference program will include an opening keynote, several concurrent sessions to highlight the work of NC educators, opportunities to network and a closing ceremony.
Why are we reaching out so early?
The motivating force behind the Spotlight Conference is to share the incredible stories, innovations and expertise of NC educators and learners. We know that the burdens of the past year continue to weigh heavily on all of us, but we also know that this period has been remarkable for collaboration and innovation in support of learners and learning. For these reasons, we wanted to provide you with ample time to consider contributing to the Conference and a variety of formats in which to do so.
How can you participate and contribute?
Please save the October 26 and 27 dates and make plans to join us! In addition to attending as a participant, we are inviting the NC community to contribute to the Spotlight Conference in one of three ways:
- Proposing a 45-minute Workshop presentation;
- *NEW* Submitting a 5-minute Show and Tell video highlighting a concrete teaching or student support strategy that is working well for you; and
- *NEW* Proposing a talent or interest (not necessarily teaching-related) that you might be willing to share virtually through a 45-minute session with others from the NC community.
Click here to read more about the ways to contribute and how to submit proposals.
Proposals and expressions of interest will be accepted through May 28, 2021. Please consider sharing your practice, your experiences, and your insights.
A full conference schedule, agenda and registration details will be released early September 2021.
