Inside Niagara, a 30-minute live news magazine-style show written, shot, produced and hosted by second-year BRTF students, featured a segment on the Saundra Patterson Memorial Garden, which is being created to honour the memory of Saundra Patterson and her connection to NC.

Beginning at the 20:10 mark (with an opening teaser at the 3:20 mark), the story includes interviews with NC president emeritus Dan Patterson, Al Unwin (dean, Business, Tourism & Environment) and Wendy Dueck (director, Development & Alumni Relations).

During the segment, Unwin highlights Saundra’s special relationship with students and faculty in NC’s horticulture program and mentions how students from the program will be involved in the design and creation of the garden. Dueck notes that the project is being funded through community donations to help meet a $50,000 goal.

Dan Patterson reflects on Saundra’s love for the entire NC community and expresses his appreciation to the College and to those supporting the memorial garden in honour of his late wife. He says, “It was unexpected, and it came out of love from faculty, staff and students – can’t get better than that.”
