Winter Term Update: Niagara moves to Red zone

As of March 1, the Niagara region was designated as a Red (control) zone within the province’s COVID-19 response framework.

With the Grey (lockdown) designation no longer in force in Niagara, some programs that are in hybrid delivery with limited on-campus classes/labs may see changes to their on-campus schedules due to different capacity limits within the Red designation. If you are in a program with labs that were impacted by the move to the grey zone in January, please watch Blackboard and your college email for updates from your program area.

While the Niagara region has moved to Red, it’s important to note that all on-campus safety measures remain in place, including enhanced PPE requirements in classes, labs and work spaces. All access control measures also remain in place, and students coming to campus should allow extra time to ensure physical distancing at access points and for lab entry.

With cases of COVID variants on the rise in the Niagara region and across Ontario, it’s more important than ever that we all remember our shared responsibilities in ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment and workplace: follow all measures and directives, wear a mask, practice physical distancing, wash your hands and avoid gatherings.

With break week underway, students are reminded to stay safe, whether on campus or in the community.
