Message from Fiona Allan, vice president, Academic
As we approach the middle of our winter term, I am writing to follow up on my announcement on InsideNC regarding the second round of the Program Experience Survey.
The survey was approved by the College’s Academic Affairs and Strategic Enrolment Committee (AASEC) in Fall 2020, with the goal of helping us ensure that our programs continue to evolve along with the needs and expectations of students. The Program Experience Survey (PES) measures student perceptions in three areas of program quality – essential employability skills, vocational learning outcomes and course electives.
The second administration of the Program Experience Survey will take place March 8 – 19, 2021.
Students who are enrolled in a regular post-secondary program, have completed one term of the program they started in fall 2020, and are 18 or older will be invited by email to take part in the online survey. Students who were in their second term or more of study during the Fall term were invited to participate in the first round of the survey in November.
Planning and Institutional Research will oversee survey administration at the College.
At this time, I ask that you ensure that staff and faculty in your respective areas are reminded of this second round, view the survey instrument here, and refer any students who have questions to the following resources:

- In compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Niagara College is providing a fully accessible online survey. Students with disabilities who wish to access accommodation or alternative delivery options for completing the survey may contact associate director of Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services Jay Burden [email protected].
Combined results from the fall and winter surveys will be available in April 2021. Staff and faculty who have questions about the survey are asked to contact Planning and Institutional research director Katerina Gonzalez at [email protected].
It has been a cold and challenging winter with the lockdown restrictions. I hope that everyone is finding ways to stay healthy and well as we look forward to brighter days with spring approaching.
