Starting on March 1, 2021, ITS will begin archiving Blackboard courses with a term start date greater than 395 days old (one year + 30 days). The change will result in Blackboard courses being archived roughly one year earlier than they would have been in the past. This new timeline is required to ensure that the College operates within the storage space allocation defined in its agreement with Blackboard.
Through February, ITS will begin disabling and archiving courses from previous terms. Please note the dates below, review your courses and back up what you require.
- Courses from terms 1184 and 1185 will be disabled and archived on February 8;
- Courses from terms 1191 and 1192 will be disabled and archived on February 16;
- Courses from terms 1194 and 1195 will be disabled and archived on February 22.
As noted above, starting on March 1, ITS will begin archiving courses with a term start date greater than 395 days old (one year + 30 days). Moving forward, please backup the courses you need to reference beyond one year – this can be done using the current archive and restore processes that you are familiar with. If required, instructions can be found in this document. After courses are archived, they can be individually restored as needed by submitting an ITS Help Desk ticket.
Please reach out to ITS if you require assistance by emailing [email protected] or submitting an ITS Help Desk ticket here.
