Prospective student Mitch Wilson has 2,000 reasons to smile this holiday season.
The Grimsby Secondary School student received a pleasant surprise earlier this week when Niagara College Marketing and Recruitment staff presented him with a $2,000 tuition credit towards his future studies at NC.
With an interest in the trades, Wilson attended NC’s Virtual Fall Open House on November 21 to learn about how an education at NC might open doors to a career in the skilled trades. Attending the online event also came with the chance at winning the $2,000 tuition award, which was randomly drawn after the event.
It was fitting that Wilson was hard at work at a District School Board of Niagara construction home build site in Thorold when he received the welcome news on December 14.
Watch a video of Wilson receiving his prize, which he can apply to his tuition in 2021:
We managed to keep this a secret from Mitch and he had no idea he won. A giant $2,000 cheque is a pretty great start to the week if we do say so.
We hope to see you at Niagara in 2021! pic.twitter.com/qNaIfVnoZP
