Gianluca Agostinelli, a professor in NC’s School of Academic Studies who teaches English and Communications, is leading an upcoming webinar about his journey with the game of tennis.
Starting at Love: (Re)discovering Tennis as a Lifelong Sport – A Tennis Story with Gianluca Agostinelli, which is being hosted by Brock University’s Italian Studies program, within its Department of Modern Languages, Literature and Culture, and the University’s Centre for Sports Capacity, will be held on Wednesday, December 2 from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
During the webinar, Agostinelli will focus on his career as a top-ranked junior tennis player in Canada, being a former member of Team Ontario and Tennis Canada, and his return to the sport competing for Brock’s varsity men’s tennis team. He will also speak on the sports industry in Canada in anticipation of the Canada Summer Games in Niagara.
Agostinelli, who grew up in an Italian family of athletes, is also an occasional and continuing education teacher with the Niagara Catholic District School Board, instructional assistant at McMaster University, and education instructor and practicum advisor at Brock University, where he is completing a Ph.D. in Educational Studies.
