Niagara College has received funding that will advance its COVID-19 related research and Kris Dube with the Niagara Dailies reported the news. The grant, which is part of a special fund of $28 million in research infrastructure support, will allow for the purchase of a biomedically compatible 3D printer for NC’s Research & Innovation division.
The state-of-the-art printer will equip NC researchers with the ability to continue COVID-19 related research and development in areas such as addressing needed modifications to personal protective equipment, including face shields/masks, and for 3D-printed nasal swabs and a patient-administered saliva collector.
