Are you ready for Niagara Day 2020?
This year’s celebration is taking place virtually on Wednesday, October 28 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., broadcast LIVE from our Welland Campus.
A true Niagara College tradition, this event is our annual opportunity to re-connect with colleagues, celebrate achievements, and recognize employees for their extraordinary work and contributions over the past year.
Hosting this year’s remote celebration will be emcees Cindy Andrews (International contract training manager) and Gary Torraville (associate dean, CFWI), who are busy preparing for the big day. What to expect
The event will kick off with the installation of our sixth president, Sean Kennedy, who will receive his presidential robes and take his official oath of office. Sean will be joined by NC Board of Governors chair Del Rollo for the celebration.
The agenda will also include the launch of a new year-in-review video, capturing significant College accomplishments and memories over the 2019-20 academic year, and an update on NC’s commitment to corporate giving through the launch of the 2020 United Way campaign by co-chairs by Shelley Panetta (interim director, Marketing and Student Recruitment) and Michele O’Keefe (associate director, Athletics and Recreation).
The celebration will cap off with our highly anticipated award presentations, including NC’s Awards of Excellence, which will be given to recipients through special live presentations – be sure to tune in!
How to tune in and maximize your viewing experience
Dutch VandenBerg and the team from our Broadcasting – Radio, Television and Film program will be producing this year’s remote celebration. In addition, COE will be hosting a Zoom room that will run in parallel with the livestream event, allowing staff and faculty to connect with each other.
To access the livestream celebration and join the Zoom room, please use the links provided in the October 23/28 CampusNotice email. *The Oct. 28 email also includes the Zoom meeting ID and passcode for those who need it.
Note: For the best viewing experience, it is recommended that you watch the livestream event from your main device (ie. desktop, laptop) and join the Zoom room using a secondary device (ie. mobile phone).
