In this September 27 article appearing in the Niagara Dailies, Niagara College’s mascot, Knightro, receives a mention for his participation in the Meridian Porch Parade on September 26. The mini-parade was created to uphold the tradition of the Niagara Grape and Wine festival’s Grand Parade during COVID-19, encouraging St. Catharines residents to get in the spirit at home by decorating their front porches.
Knightro, who was joined by St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik and other local mascots including Bones from the Niagara Ice Dogs and Dunkin from the Niagara River Lions, showed his NC spirit through six St. Catharines neighbourhoods that qualified to be on the mini-parade route.
