This article in The St. Catharines Standard, The Niagara Falls Review, and The Welland Tribune mentions NC’s continued partnership with Swim Drink Fish and the Niagara Coastal Community Collaborative to test water quality in south Niagara through the Lake Erie-Niagara Hub.
The Hub was established in 2019 by Swim Drink Fish with the Niagara Coastal Community Collaborative and supported by Niagara College. The collaborative manages the hub, NC hosts it and Swim Drink Fish runs it with funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Great Lakes Protection Initiative.
This year, the hub added a third testing location, working with the Lorraine Bay Association to monitor the bay’s waters in Port Colborne. After this year’s monitoring season launch was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, monitoring co-ordinator Gregary Ford notes in the article, “It feels good to be back on the water.”
