As we look forward to the start of the Fall term, here are a few important reminders for those accessing campus:
- Any employee requesting access must have completed the online employee orientation. Employees only need to complete this once. The employee orientation can be accessed via the portal by clicking the ‘Training – COVID-19 Employee Safe Return to Niagara College Orientation’ icon. This is a very important first step and needs to be completed via the portal so it can be tracked in the system.
- Requests for on-campus access must be submitted via the online form, which is available in the Employee Self Service section of the portal – click ‘Request on-campus access.’ Requests must be submitted 24 hours in advance and multiple days may be requested without limit. Please email your supervisor after submitting a request to help with timely approvals.
- Completion of a daily online health screening assessment is required for access. Even if you have been approved for access for multiple days, the health assessment must be completed each day, before you come to campus. The health assessment can be found in the Employee Self Service app.
- The request form and daily health assessment are tied to your employee ID card which must be presented and tapped upon entry at the designated entrance. If you have left your card on campus (in offices) you may be granted access with your employee ID number. If you don’t have a card or have lost it, please visit: niagaracollege.ca/idcards/. (It’s a good idea to always have your employee number on hand for back up – to find it, check the top of your Employee Self Service page in the portal). Please note – if you haven’t successfully completed the request form and online health assessment, you will not be allowed to enter the campus.
- Designated access points at each campus can be found here: niagaracollege.ca/covid19/ncsafe/accesspoints
While most employees will continue to work remotely, for those who will be returning to campus next week, it’s imperative that you follow the process outlined above.
For further information on access procedures and your role in keeping our campuses safe, refer to the NC Safe employee guide here.
If you have questions regarding protocols for on campus access or safety measures, please reach out to your supervisor.
