NC alumnus (Graphic Design, 2014) and St. Catharines based graphic designer Shaun O’Melia was interviewed by Newstalk 610 CKTB‘s Tim Denis on July 30.
In the interview, O’Melia discusses his winning medal design for the Niagara 2021 Canada Summer Games and explains how he was required to capture an indigenous inclusion and the spirit and essence of Niagara, all while giving a nod to the athletes participating in the games. After spending countless hours on the project and being chosen out of 45 other applicants, O’Melia says that his win is surreal and is looking forward to revealing the design in April 2021 during the Games’ 100-Day-Out Event.
