NC alumnus Shaun O’Melia was featured by Bill Sawchuck from the Niagara Dailies in a July 29 article. O’Melia, who graduated from NC’s Graphic Design program in 2014, has been chosen as the designer of the Niagara 2021 Canada Summer Games medals.

The article mentions that the Games host society wanted a medal that captured the essence and spirit of Niagara and O’Melia is quoted on the inspiration behind his design: “I wanted to focus on the history, geography, landscapes and people of Niagara that make our community so special and unique,” O’Melia said. “There is a very strong Indigenous inclusion that I felt needed to be overtly expressed.”
