Niagara College’s distiller, David Dickson, was interviewed on June 30 by Newstalk 610 CKTB’s Tom McConnell about the NC Teaching Distillery’s new School Spirits Small Batch Rum.

Dickson discusses the distilling process of the rum, its flavour components, and preferred drinking methods, including its use in cocktails such as the dark and stormy. He also mentions that the rum was crafted by students from the inaugural class of NC’s Artisan Distilling program who graduated in 2019 – the spirit’s release date marked the one-year anniversary of the class’s graduation. He hopes the graduates will visit NC’s Wine, Visitor + Education Centre to taste the fruits of their labour.
