The Waterloo Chronicle featured the efforts of NC alumnus Nathan Shantz, a New Hamburg native, who has been helping his community in the fight against COVID-19.
Using his personal 3D printer, Shantz, who graduated from NC’s Electronics Engineering Technology program in 2019, has been printing off face shield holders that will attach to the visors of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers to use during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, he has printed off 200 holders for InkSmith, a Kitchener-based education technology company that launched The Canadian Shield, an initiative that looks to provide PPE to those in need across the country.
