This is an update to the announcement on Friday that all on-campus classes have been suspended for the week of March 16.
As a further measure to protect the health and safety of our students and employees, as of tomorrow (March 16), with the exception of essential services, we are asking that all Niagara College employees work remotely.
Your manager will be in touch with you tomorrow to provide further details about expectations and advise employees who are deemed essential.
With this situation evolving very quickly, we will be providing regular updates as further decisions are made and as additional information becomes available. Please check your college email and the college website regularly.
All employees, including full and part-time, partial load and student employees will be paid for the hours they are scheduled to work this week. The extent of college operations beyond this week will be continuously assessed and communicated.
I also want to thank all of you for your ongoing patience and understanding during these challenging times. As we move forward together, we must do what Niagara College does best: stick together, support one another, and communicate. I will continue to work with our dedicated executive and senior management teams to develop contingency plans to respond to this extraordinary set of changing circumstances. In addition, the college management team will be working with all of you – our dedicated faculty and staff – to further refine and implement plans within your respective areas.
