Please note that Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for North and South Niagara for Wednesday, February 26 and Thursday, February 27. Heavy snow is expected late this afternoon and tonight with total snowfall amounts of 15 cm expected by Thursday morning.
Niagara College will continue to monitor this weather event, and updates will be posted to the College’s website and social media channels.
Students, staff and visitors should use extra caution when travelling to and around College campuses, and allow extra time to park. Please stay clear of operating equipment when snow-clearing work is underway. Walk carefully on snow- or ice-covered surfaces, especially slopes or stairs, and wear appropriate footwear.
A reminder that Niagara College’s Severe Weather Closures policy outlines a framework for college closures in cases of inclement weather, including how such decisions are made and communicated to the college community, as well as staff responsibilities in cases of a campus closure. Decisions to close campuses before the start of the business day will be made and communicated as early as possible, with the intent to alert the college community by 6:30 a.m. via the college’s website and social media channels. The Severe Weather – Staff Attendance procedure addresses faculty and staff attendance requirements and responsibilities when severe weather is present, and a decision is made to either close college campuses, or remain open.
