Niagara College is continuing to transition to convenient, cashless parking at the Welland Campus. Since December 2019, students, employees and visitors at the Welland Campus have had the option of paying for hourly and daily parking through the HonkMobile app and at HonkMobile pay kiosks on campus.
The previously used parking pay stations, which have continued to be available during the transition, will be deactivated on January 31, at which point HonkMobile will be the primary way to pay for hourly and daily paid parking at the Welland Campus. Physical parking permits will continue to be honoured – current permit holders do not need to use Honk.
How to pay for hourly and daily parking at the Welland Campus using Honk:
- Download the HonkMobile app for iOS or Android devices OR tap your mobile device at one of the HonkMobile tap meter locations located in the parking lots and throughout the campus
- When logged in, the app will display two Zone ID’s for the Welland Campus. Select Zone 2600 for Lot A (daily paid parking), or 2601 for Lots B, C, D, E, F and G, and provide your payment and licence plate information.
Students, staff and guests without a mobile device can also pay for hourly, daily, and weekly paid parking at a HonkMobile tablet kiosk at three locations on-campus:
- Applied Health Main Entrance
- Parking office (L122)
- Rankin Technology Centre – West Entrance (near Lot D)
For a limited time, daily and weekly parking passes can also be purchased via cash, debit or credit in the Welland Campus bookstore (L25). For guest passes, please continue to contact [email protected].
HonkMobile parking is currently only available at the Welland Campus. The app is expected to launch at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake later in 2020 – pay stations at the NOTL Campus continue to be in use.
2019-2020 Permit parking for both campuses will continue to be available for purchase by following the permit parking instructions on the Parking Services website. When fully implemented, as current parking permits expire, staff and students will be able to purchase permit parking for the upcoming school year (Sept. 2020 – Aug. 2021) using Honk.
